The BP Texas MS 150 is in the books!
7 Texas Team Shoebacca riders (All Ladies, Girl Power!) just completed the 167 mile two day event for MS!!
Several of the Ladies were the same Ladies that came to visit and ride the Pacific Coast Chapter of The MS 150 with us last year. Those same Ladies went back home to Texas, grabbed some friends and rolled out of Houston for MS. The BP MS Ride rolls from Houston Texas with a final destination of Austin, the Proud Capitol of Texas. These Ladies organized the Team, trained up and left out of Dallas to make the journey to Houston for the start.
I think it's really important to mention that for 5 of the 7 this was their first Century much less two days back to back.
Houston to Austin is an interesting MS 150. Where else but Texas will you sign up for a 150 mile ride and have it be 167 miles.
Everything is Bigger in Texas right?
Day two the route takes you to a very historical and beautiful park called named Bastrop State Park. They call it a challenge route as it climbs and winds through narrow roads and Old Oak trees, it's awesome. There are several jump climbs on this route and it adds a little extra credit to the day to before you pull in to Austin.
Although I wasn't there this year I've done the ride before and can say I've never experienced anything like the Roll-in to Austin, it's RockStar!
The rider cap on this ride is 14,000 so imagine at least 1 to 4 Friends or Family for each rider on course cheering at the Finish, it's Crazy!
Thanks so much to the Ladies from Team Shoebacca for carrying the Team Spirt throughout the weekend and across the finishline in Austin. Also special thanks to Jeannette's Husband Gary and Christy's Husband Darrel Oldfeild for being the ultimate SAG wagon and Chase vehicle providing pictures, snacks and help wherever it was needed along the whole route.
Teamwork makes the dream work!
Thank You Team Shoebacca Texas! Y'all Rock.
Can't wait for the Pacific coast MS coming up in October.
